NBA Africa’s highly anticipated NBA Weekend event made it’s debut in Cape Town, South Africa, bringing the “festival of basketball” to the Mother City. Following successful events in Alexandria, Egypt, this marked the first time the event was held on South African soil, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of around 1,500 basketball fans.
The weekend was filled with thrilling activities, including a high-energy 3-on-3 basketball tournament with attendees on the edge of their seats.
The event featured a variety of attractions, including interactive basketball activities, gaming zones, and giveaways from Puma. Guests could unwind at a Castle Lite beer garden or relax in the Hennessey lounge. The entertainment didn’t stop at basketball, with performances from popular hip-hop artist DeeKoala and renowned DJ Ready D creating a vibrant atmosphere.
The two-day event culminated with the finals of the 3-on-3 tournament, followed by musical performances from Shylean Shelly and Surreal Sessions. The final day featured a star-studded celebrity game, presented by Puma, where Team KashCPT and Team Tembipowers faced off on the court, with Youngsta CPT closing the event with a live performance.
