NBA Deputy Commissioner and COO Mark Tatum and former NBA player Derek Fisher made their inaugural visit to Kenya from October 7th to 9th, 2024.

During their stay, they engaged in strategic meetings with key stakeholders, including Stanbic Bank, Equity Bank, Trade & Development Bank, Safaricom, Nation Media Group, the IFC, and Mastercard.

The visit included a press conference at Kempinski Hotel with local and international media, during which NBA Kenya announced partnerships with Opportunity International, Nation Media Group, and Safaricom. Mark Tatum committed to building 100 courts in Kenya, and U.S. Ambassador Margaret ‘Meg’ Whitman hosted a reception. The visit was capped off by a high-level meeting with Kenya’s President William Ruto at the State House.
