Her Time To Play, hosted by Royal Bafokeng Sports and NBA Africa
NBA Africa in partnership with Royal Bafokeng Sports, hosted a Her Time To Play Careers in Sports day.
The event was to celebrate South Africa’s National Women’s day with the objective of demonstrating the wide range of career pathways available for girls in the sports industry.
The panelists included, NBA Africa and RBS female staff members who generously shared their journey’s.
The morning focused on panel discussions focusing on:
- Women in cooperative field
- Women in sports management
- Women in coaching
The sessions, were lively, interactive and provided girls with local mentors, who came from similar backgrounds and demonstrated resilience to achieve their goals.
Following the panel discussion, participants moved onto a dance session that was followed by an aerobics session.
Creating access and opportunities for the girl child is important to NBA Africa’s approach in the region.
We look forward to more girls being introduced to the game of basketball and furthermore, accessing employment opportunities in the sports ecosystem.
